Marbled Tumblers Workshop

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the marbling technique and have the opportunity to learn and practice various hand-building skills to create unique ceramic pieces. 

The workshop begins with an intro to different types of clay and the fundamentals of hand-building techniques. You'll learn how to prepare and marble the clay, understand its properties, and explore techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab construction.

As you gain confidence in the basics, you'll have the freedom to let your creativity run wild.  As the instructor, Ashley will provide guidance and inspiration as you design and build your own ceramic pieces. Although this class will be geared toward tumbler creation, personal exploration is always encouraged. Whether you envision making functional pottery like bowls or plates, or you prefer to focus on sculptural forms, the possibilities are endless.

Throughout the workshop, you'll receive personalized attention and instruction to help you refine your techniques and troubleshoot any challenges you may encounter. You'll learn how to add texture, create surface decorations, and after 2-3 weeks of drying and firing time, you’ll be notified and your pieces will be ready to pick-up/ship!

This class covers a 3hr pottery session - all clay, glaze, tools, materials and firings are included. We will also have some light sips and delish nibbles to enjoy together.  

Your fired and finished pieces will be available for pickup 2-3 weeks later and you’ll be notified when everything is ready to pick-up/ship.

We have the pleasure of utilizing the Coalition Space, made possible by the good people at the Historic Fourth Avenue Coalition - this will be an indoor workshop, please dress comfortably.
